How do we know when we are earning enough?
How do we know how much money in savings is enough, or how much accumulating for retirement is enough?
The World would have us believe that “More is Better!”
It’s important to remember that God has a plan for your life that is unique and individual, not corporate, or, the same for everyone. He knows how many children you will have, where you will work and for how long, where you will live and what your financial needs are.
If we are not careful, we can find ourselves in the trap of comparing our lives and possessions with others, even other Christians.
God rewards our hard work, as we do it “as to the Lord” Col. 3:23 ( see also Proverbs 10:16; 13:11). As we are faithful with what God does entrust to us, He may bless us and entrust us with more:
Matthew 25:20-21 “And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Luke 19:17 “And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”
Let’s thank God today for He has given us and entrusted to us, and may we be found faithful. Pr. 3:9-10
